Happy Mother's Day

Yesterday both Hannah and Sarah each gave me mother's day gifts bought with their own saved-up pocket money! Really touched me that they would do things like this for me. Doesn't matter what the gifts are, its always the thot that counts, and how it counts!! Teringat kat Amirul....

Then this morning when I opened my email, there was notification from FB that Amirul had written on my wall. Rupanya he had made an effort to tumpang his teacher's computer to log into FB and wish me happy mother's day!! Aiyo, made me very teary for a while there....got a bit emotional at my desk but couldn't help it, am missing my son so much and can't wait to see him this weekend.....

Hannah's Sports Day

Looks like Hannah is turning out to be more like me day by day. She's really starting to pick up sports and the only difference with me at that age is that while I was a tomboy, she has long hair and a much more diva attitude.
This morning was Hannah's school's sports day and she took part in three events, the 100m, 4x100m and 4x200m. She ran really well today. Thank god she is not one of those lembik girls. She's got grit!!

In the end, she earned 4th place in the 100m, 2nd place in the 4x100m and 1st place in the 4x200m! A silver and a gold! You go girl!!! Mama is soooo proud of you!

Went home a very happy girl....

Luqman's School Open Day

Luqman's pre-school had an Open Day cum Mother's Day celebration this morning. I only got to know about after coming back from Jakarta 10pm last nite. Hubby and the kids were at the airport to pick me up and it was at the arrival gate that hubby told me "By the way, Luqman has a Mother's Day potluck at school tomorrow". Potluck!!?? Luckily hubby had already planned everything out and had gotten up early the next day to tapau mee goreng for the potluck. Thanks so much hubby!

The event turned out quite fun....there was lots of food, a few contests arranged for the kids and even an aerobics/poco-poco class arranged for the moms (though I was still too tired to join in)!

Having fun drawing.....

Luqman's Sports Day

Today was Luqman's Sports Day. He has been so excited about it for the past few days and now that its finally here, nak makan b'fast pun susah. The event was held kat Sekolah Sri Cahaya which turned out to be a good choice of venue, enough shade, lots of food and drinks available at the canteen, reasonable toilet facilities(!).

As usual, because I was there, Luqman didn't want to sit with his group and their teachers. Nak mama dia je. So I had to sit with him to try pujuk dia sikit. But it didn't work...

In the end, hubby told me to sit jauh sikit while he settles Luqman. Eventually he did get Luqman to sit with his friends albeit a little reluctant.

Not too happy.....

Sure enough, as soon as I was out of sight, Luqman was ok. Haiya, nasib baik tak buat golek-golek macam kat sekolah dulu.

Dah mula senyum-senyum sikit!

By the time it was Luqman's team's turn to go, he was up and raring!!

The theme for the sports day was "Going Green" or sumting like that. So all the games had enviromentally friendly motifs to them. Luqman's game involved "recycling" plastic. The kids had to do some running around sorting out piles of plastic bottles and putting them into baskets. Dapatlah anak montel I tu berpeluh sikit!!

Go Luqman Go!!

Each teammate was given a letter and after finishing the game, they all lined up to spell "USE LESS PLASTIC" ......

As a token, all the kids were given a medal each to take home. There was a small award-giving ceremony and as it was Luqman's first, he was very curious and couldn't stand still.

Whazzat???

All in all, it was a very enjoyable day .... and Luqman went home a very happy boy. We had to go to Giant after that to buy some groceries and Luqman insisted on wearing his medal all throughout the shopping trip.

Sarah's Bday Party

Last Sunday was Sara's bday party. Was supposed to be a small party, I told her to invite just 15 friends. Dont know what was actually lost in the translation but somehow 30 kids turned up that day, felt like I was swarmed by bees! The noise! The kecoh! The mess!

All in all, it was a fun party. Had a few games to keep the kids entertained and even a little craft corner for them to create their own bookmarks as keepsakes (actually that was a tactic to get them to sit down in one place and stop "buzzing" around so much!). Had to top up the food twice to satisfy their appetites but it felt good to watch them enjoy themselves.

Hari Raya at Pulau Tinggi

Last aidifitri kitaorg semua komplot with my parents to escape to Pulau Tinggi during the raya week. Boy, did we have a good time! The water was clear, the weather was just perfect....clear water, clear skies, clear minds! The pulau itself was sparsely occupied, there were barely 7 familes located around us. We stayed at a backpacker's longhouse, cleanliness of the place was just average but who cares, we felt real cool "roughing it out" lah konon!

Luqman's Bday Party

After such a loooong absence, I barulah "teringat" nak start updating my blog. Luqman's bday party was held in October last year and I just happened to come across some pics of his cake. He wanted an army-themed party so we actually dressed up if camouflage T-shirts that day. Got the idea for his cake thru the internet......

.....and the cupcakes......
